NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program
The club runs the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program for the Rimfire Rifle course of fire.
The NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program is a skill development program held on Sundays.
Shooting begins at 11am, just after the open pistol shooting ends and is open till 1:00 p.m. See event calendar for specific days.
The program is held at the indoor range, 2621 East 7th St., Cheyenne, WY
The program is open to all CRPC members and the public!
Juniors (ages 12-17) MUST be accompanied on the shooting line at all times by a non-shooting adult, and the adult must wear eye and hearing protection.
The intent of this program is to encourage the shooter to “practice with a purpose.”
You are competing against yourself and the target, you are not competing against other shooters.
RIFLES:
Participants are responsible for providing their own rifle and ammunition.
Only .22 Long Rifle caliber rimfire rifles may be used. Any sights may be used, including scopes. Standing and 3-Position course, the rifle must weigh 8.5 pounds or less, including
sights and slings. Schuetzentype butt plates and palm rests may not be used.
TARGETS:
NRA Official 50-foot Small Bore Rifle will be supplied.
All courses are shot from the 50-foot mark.
In addition, you will need to bring and wear safety glasses and hearing protection while on the range. If you wear prescription eyeglasses and they meet safety standards, you can
wear them instead of safety glasses.
Adults accompanying juniors on the firing line are also required to wear eye and hearing protection.
You can bring a friend or family to watch, but they must watch from our observation area. Unless you are under eighteen years old or currently enrolled in the CRCP Juniors program, then one adult will be on the range with you.
The program is supervised by NRA Certified Instructors and RSO’s, they can help if you are a novice shooter, but this program is not a substitute for the proper training such as the NRA Basic Pistol Course.
CRPC offers the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course under our training menu.
Only CASH or CHECKS made out to CRPC will be accepted.
The cost of the program is as follows:
$30.00 per shooter for CR&PC and NRA members.
Shooters will get a Certificate for all ratings and a Distinguished Expert Pin when completed. No NRA rocker patches will be given.
$50.00 per shooter for non-CR&PC and/or non-NRA members.
Shooters will get a Certificate and NRA patch for all ratings and a Distinguished Expert Pin when completed.
This program is full and is not accepting any more applications. 2/6/2025
