What is 22 Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette??
Intent / Purpose: The intent is to provide a recreational game for the practice with the purpose of improving ones proficiency with a BPCR rifle, without the expense and time of reloading.
Concept / Overview: To create a match that mirrors BPCR Silhouette in all respects. The course of fire, scoring and rifles permitted are in keeping with the spirit of BPCR Silhouette. In this, even the distances are shorter, and the caliber of the guns are .22 long rifle. With the shorter distances, the size of the animals is reduced accordingly to maintain the challenge of the match.
Course of Fire: The course of fire is a total of 40 shots for record, 10 shots of each of the following targets, Chickens, Pigs, Turkeys, and Rams. Timing is 8 minutes for 10 shots for score (unlimited sighter shots are permitted within this 8 minute time limit).
Scoring: Once a shooter has announced his intention to go for record, targets are shot in sequence (10 shots for 10 targets). If a shooter misses a target, the shooter will move to the next target. Chickens are shot off-hand; Pigs, Turkeys, and Rams may be shot off-hand, sitting, or prone from crossed sticks. Crossed sticks must be BPCR Silhouette legal.
Range: Sighter targets / targets are placed at the following distance
- Chickens – 50 meters
- Pigs – 100 meters
- Turkeys – 150 meters
- Rams – 200 meters
Rifles: Acceptable rifles must be of BPCR Silhouette configuration (exposed hammer, no hooked butt-plates or palm rests). They may be originally chambered for .22LR, converted/re-lined, or BPCR Silhouette rifles with removable liners / inserts chambered for .22LR. Sights will be open globe front sights and tang/peep rear sights are permitted. Scopes are allowed with no click adjustments and lens of no more than 3/4 inch diameter of any magnification. Sights with iris-type adjustments are NOT permitted.

Please do not let the term “match” scare you off or not having a firearm to shoot the match stop you. We have plenty of firearms and love to let folks shoot ‘em!
